Huberman Lab Podcast: Ketamine Benefits & Risks

Andrew Huberman, Ph.D., is a neuroscientist and tenured professor at Stanford School of Medicine in the department of neurobiology and by courtesy, psychiatry and behavioral sciences.  He produces a respected podcast that is frequently ranked in the Top 15 of all podcasts globally and is often ranked #1 in the categories of science, education, and health & fitness.  His podcast is available on multiple platforms including Apple, Spotify, and YouTube, as well as his own website.  His mission is to provide current, evidence-based information on health and wellness topics at zero cost to consumers. As a busy healthcare provider, entrepreneur, and single mom, I have found his podcasts to be a very effective and useful way to stay current on the latest research in a variety of wellness topics.

In a recent episode, Dr. Huberman discussed ketamine.  You can view or listen to the episode here.

As always, Dr. Huberman does an excellent job outlining and summarizing key pieces of information on this topic.  He discusses how ketamine is being used in mental health, how it has historically been used, and he goes into great depth about how it works in the brain of someone struggling with depression.  He also discusses how research was conducted in this area.  If you have questions about ketamine beyond the basics, this is an excellent resource!
